We lucked out again this year! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting Star Hill Family Farm on special days for 2026, and typically some elves and other holiday characters tend to also visit when Santa is around.
Santa said he’s looking forward to meeting all the good boys and girls, and requested you bring your ‘Letters to Santa’ so there’s no chance it can get lost in the mail. He’s also looking forward to pictures, questions, and hearing what you most want this year.
This year’s schedule:
TIME: 11AM-4PM
DATES: November 27, 28, & 29th
December 5th & 12th
December 19th Santa & Mrs Claus will be reading stories
and we will be collecting canned goods for charity.

Horse Drawn Wagon or Sleigh Rides
As part of our seasonal Family Christmas Experience, take a tour of Star Hill Family Farm on our horse drawn wagon or sleigh. Wagon rides leave every fifteen minutes on select days which are booked in advance online, and do sell out fast. The journey goes throughout the hillside of the farm. We have limited seating, so be sure to book early. Each rider is $15 (+$1.50 ticket fee & tax), but Children 2 and under are free and do not need a ticket, but must be secured with a parent or guardian.

Local Christmas Trees & Hand-made Wreaths
Star Hill Family Farm is a family operated tree farm in Portland, CT. Christmas is our favorite time of year and we want buying a tree to be a fun and memorable experience for you and your family. We thank and appreciate the many families making our farm visit their annual family tradition, and the community for inviting us to take part in so many holiday events.
We grow the two most popular Christmas Trees, Balsam fir and Fraser fir, and have various sizes ranging from 2’ to 24’. We hand make all the wreaths each season, offering various sizes, styles, and holiday decor. We have also stocked several tree and wreath accessories for your convenience, as well as carry heavy commercial grade tree stands for larger trees.

Mon – Friday 12PM to 4PM
Weekends 10AM to 5PM
Black Friday, November 27th, we run at weekend extended hours with all activities. We appreciate your feedback, and this year we are accepting debit and credit cards in the store for even more convenience, so we expect an easier shopping experience in 2026.

Very friendly staff & beautiful site
First visit to Star Hill Family Farm left a wonderful impression. We’ll definitely visit again and I encourage all to check this place out! We picked up a beautiful tree and wreath. Very friendly staff and beautiful site. They have it all.
Fun family spot!

The kids loved it

We had our daughter’s third
We had our daughter’s third birthday at the farm and could not say enough nice things about the experience! All the kids had a blast playing and learning about the farm on the tractor ride. The owners were exceptionally nice and accommodating to work with. Will definitely do it again!!
