Star Hill Family Farm’s Annual Christmas Food Drive: Giving Back to Our Community

The holidays are a time for family, joy, and togetherness — and at Star Hill Family Farm, they’re also a time to give back to the community that has supported us year after year. This season, we’re proud to continue a cherished Portland tradition with our Annual Christmas Food Drive to benefit the Portland Food Bank.

On Saturday, December 20th, families are invited to spend the day at the farm for a celebration of kindness, Christmas spirit, and community. Entry to the event is simply one canned good per person, which will help provide meals to local families in need during the holidays.

Children can enjoy visiting and feeding the farm animals, playing in the festive activity area, and dropping their letters into our special “Letters to Santa” mailbox. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be joining us for magical Christmas story readings in the heated barn at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM, filling the day with laughter and warm holiday memories. Guests can also enjoy sweet treats and warm drinks while soaking in the sights and sounds of the season.

For all of us at Star Hill Family Farm, this event holds a special place in our hearts. Each year, we see how much joy it brings families who come together to celebrate Christmas in a simple, meaningful way. It’s a reminder that even small acts of kindness — like donating a can of food — can make a big difference in someone’s life.

The farm has always been about family, community, and creating traditions that last. From the laughter of children feeding the animals to the glow of the Christmas lights at dusk, it’s our greatest joy to see Portland families return year after year to make memories with us. Supporting our neighbors through this event is our way of saying thank you for being part of the Star Hill Family Farm family.
